This intermediate-level CEU event provides Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) with a comprehensive, step-by-step guide to designing and implementing mand training programs. Using real client video examples and practical strategies, participants will learn how to establish motivation, pair instructional contexts with reinforcement, prompt early communication responses, and shape approximations into independent and spontaneous mands.

The training explores each phase of mand instruction, beginning with environmental setup and instructor pairing, moving through echoic and sign prompting, and culminating in generalization and maintenance strategies. Special attention is given to accepting approximations, data-based decision-making, and fading prompts without losing skill integrity. This session is ideal for practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of verbal behavior and improve outcomes for learners with communication delays.
